Project Plan

Our client is going to be the Campus Rec Center. At the Rec Center, there are 2 ways to get in; Catcard, or Finger vein. Using your Catcard requires waiting in line and handing it to the customer service attendant. Using your finger vein is usually the faster option, but has a high failure rate. Our idea is to create another row of scanners. These scanners will accept finger vein, but will also accept a 2 factor authentication method. First, you scan your Catcard. Second, you receive a Duo notification on your phone that you have to accept (after it's been set up with your NetID+). Both of these factors will ensure someone is who they say they are, and will speed up entrance times while reducing failure rates. Below is the Duo interface you would see on your mobile device after you scan your Catcard. The user simply accepts the ping to be authenticated.
